Chuck E. Cheese was originally called “Pizza Time Theatre.” I was made by the same man who founded Atari, which is pretty cool.
In this page, I will be more or less talking about the many iterations of the characters over the years.

The first iteration of these bots was the portrait styled “stage.” The characters were spread out along the sides of the walls and chatted among themselves. The first characters were Chuck E, who had a cigar, Jasper T. Jowls, a dog, Pasqually, whom I hate, the Warblettes, backup singing birds, clapper board, which was a bunch of hands that clapped, and Crusty the Cat. There were also a few guest singers, such as Helen Henny, who was based on Helen Reddy. (listen to Reddy some time, she’s great) Mr. Munch was later added as well.

The balcony stage was integrated in 1979. It featured Foxy Colleen as a guest star and later Helen Henny when she became a permanent character. Under the show, there was Mr. Munch’s Magic Madhouse, which was a McDonald’s Playplace sorta tunnel-ey area. They didn’t have these for long because the employees couldn’t get in there. I’d rather not think about what went on in those tunnels.
